2006 Charitable Activities
Utsav Youth Group - a volunteer youth group comprised of children of Utsav members and other well-wishers of Utsav - is involved in voluntary charitable community activities in the NY Capital Region. Primary mentor for this group is our fellow Utsavite Ashish Ghosh.  Below are the list of relevant activities undertaken by Utsav Youth Group, so far, in 2006.

Regional FoodBank - Feb 25
 

Regional Food Bank

On Saturday, March 25, Utsav Youth Group volunteered at the Regional Food Bank of North-Eastern New York at Latham, NY and helped with food wrapping and packaging. This was primarily organized by Adrija Basu.

Participants were : Adrija Basu, Anisha Ghosh, Arunesh Ghosh, Mohua Chakraborti, Pramit Mallik, Rahul Aitch, Rahul Banerjee, Sayan Bhattacharyya, Shayan Sen

   
Tour de Cure - Jun 10
 

Tour de Cure

 On Sunday, June 11, Utsav Youth Group volunteered at the American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure event at Stillwater, NY. They were assigned the task off cheerleading the participating bikers and have earned lot of praise from the organizer and bikers for their sincerity and excellence. Utsav Youth Group participation was primarily arranged by Rahul Aitch and Arunesh Ghosh.

Hindu Temple Heritage Camp

During August 14-18, the group helped Albany Hindu temple to run their annual week-long summer heritage camp as camp councellors. They actively participated in Educational, Cultural, religious and other programs and activities offered at the camp as councelors to group of young children. Utsav Youth Group participation was primarily arranged by Arunesh Ghosh.

Heart Walk - Oct 14
 

Heart Walk

On Saturday, October 14, Utsav Youth Group volunteered at the American Heart Association Heart Walk event at Colonie Center, Albany, NY. They were assigned the task of assisting at the food court. Their responsibilities included set-up, reorg and clean-up . Utsav Youth Group participation was primarily arranged by Arunesh Ghosh.

Equinox - Nov 23
 

Equinox Thanksgiving Community Food Service

On Thursday, November 23, Utsav Youth Group  volunteered at the Equinox Thanksgiving Community Food Service event at Empire State Plaza, Albany, NY.  Their responsibilities included food supply from pantry to packaging area and food wrapping and packaging. Utsav Youth Group participation was primarily arranged by Chandan Desarkar. In this event Utsav Youth group had the rare honor to have been encouraged by  Governor Pataki and Mayor Jennings.
