It is with great sadness that Utsab community mourns the passing of one of its own founding members and past President Dr. Dipen Moitra in February, 2023. "Dipen Da", as fondly remembered within Utsab, spent more than 30 years in the Capital District and was very active in the Bengali community and the Indian community at large. He was instrumental in framing the Utsab bylaws and made many worthwhile contributions to Utsab. He graduated in Engineering from BITS Pilani and earned his Ph.D in Computer Science from Cornell University. He held senior level positions with GE for many years before retiring and moving to Millis, MA in September 2022.
